Read about Valmiki Ramayanam project by Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati, India. The project is funded by The Government of India. It includes translation of Srimad Valmiki Ramayana into English and transliterate the text into major Indian languages, namely, Bengali, Oriya, Gujarati, Punjabi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam. Besides, translation into five major European languages, viz. French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese is undertaken. Two of the notable well wishing objectives of the project are:
The site includes glossary of Sanskrit terms from Ramayana text which is a valuable addition.


In the same context, it is important to know the Valimikiramayana site built solely by Desiraju H. Rao with limited resources. Linked from the giirvaani site, he has also translated Raghuvamsha, Kumarasambhava, and Ritusamharam of Kalidasa, and Gita Govindam of Jayadeva.
